Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, deputy DK Shivakumar receive threat mail; probe launched

The City Crime Branch of the Bengaluru Police has registered a case. The mail sender demanded a ransom of Rs 20 crore to refrain from carrying out the explosions

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, along with several other cabinet ministers, have reportedly received a bomb threat mail. The mail was  addressed to key figures including Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Home Minister G Parameshwara, news agency ANI reported on March 5.

The email ID used by the person sending the threatening mail was Shahidkhan10786@protonmail.com, India Today NE reported.

According to the ANI report, the sender threatened to bomb railway stations, temples, bus stops and public places throughout the state as well as demanded a ransom of 2.5 million dollars (about Rs 20 crore) to refrain from carrying out the explosions.

The City Crime Branch (CCB) of the Bengaluru Police has registered a case in this regard.
