Karnataka Budget: Siddaramaiah allocates Rs 100 cr for Waqf properties, Rs 200 cr for Christian community

Rs 50 crore will be allocated for the development of major pilgrimage destinations of Jains, announced Siddaramaiah

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who also holds the Finance portfolio, presented the state Budget on February 16 and
allocated Rs 100 crore for Waqf properties, Rs 200 crore for Christian community. Regarding Waqf properties, there will be a special focus on protection and conservation of protected monuments, which are maintained by the ASI.

The Congress government also earmarked Rs 10 crore for the construction of Mangaluru Haj Bhavan and announced that 100 Maulana Azad schools will be opened in the state.

Rs 50 crore will be allocated for the development of major pilgrimage destinations of Jains, announced Siddaramaiah.

The CM added that Tripitakas, the sacred texts of the Buddhist community, will be translated into Kannada, and necessary grants will be allocated for the same.
