Mumbai witnessed the grand opening of two new educational institutions: the Nita Mukesh Ambani Junior School (NMAJS) and the Nita Mukesh Ambani Junior School Early Years Campus (NMAJS EYC) this week at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). The NMAJS, which spans a constructed area of 3 lakh square feet, will cater to primary and middle school students from classes 1 to 7. In contrast, the Early Years Campus, covering an additional 30,000 square feet, is dedicated to pre-school and kindergarten education.
The schools have been conceptualized and spearheaded by Isha Ambani Piramal, Vice-Chairperson, NMAJS and an alumna of the Dhirubhai Ambani International School (DAIS). Her vision for NMAJS centres around creating an institution that caters to the diverse needs and unique learning styles of students while inspiring them to reach their fullest potential.
The new campuses boast several distinct features, including open and multipurpose learning spaces, state-of-the-art science and technology labs, creative arts studios, and a green campus design incorporating sustainable features. Through the integration of digital technologies and a strong emphasis on student and staff safety, the school is commitment to holistic development, a release stated.
At the opening ceremony, Isha Ambani Piramal emphasised the importance of creating a collaborative and compassionate community within the school. She described the school’s transparent architecture as a reflection of its values, fostering an environment where students can grow, share ideas, and become the best versions of themselves. She also highlighted the importance of nurturing enthusiasm, curiosity, and values in children, encouraging them to become lifelong learners.
She said, “I dreamt about creating a place that prompted all of us to be at our collaborative and compassionate best, to really build a strong and open community with one another. The school’s transparent architecture is a testament to this. The spaces here aren’t just for learning – they’re for growing together, for sharing ideas, and for becoming the best versions of ourselves. We can see the very spirit of our school in its design.”
Nita Ambani, Founder and Chairperson, expressed her pride in the launch of NMAJS, drawing parallels with the success of the Dhirubhai Ambani International School (DAIS), which has become a leading institution over the past two decades. She reiterated her commitment to building NMAJS into a “timeless temple of learning”.
Nita Ambani said, “As we look back, we are humbled that in the last two decades, we managed to build DAIS as a happy school that always celebrated a culture of excellence and constantly reinvented itself as an innovative and forward-looking institution. Similarly, we are committed to build NMAJS into a timeless temple of learning.”
The opening ceremony was attended by students, parents, teachers, and staff, all of whom expressed excitement and admiration for the new campus and its comprehensive facilities.
