An IndiGo flight from Bengaluru to Goa was forced to return and make an emergency landing at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) reportedly due to low fuel on October 8 (Tuesday).
KIA sources told Moneycontrol that Goa-bound IndiGo flight 6E 6168, which took off from Bengaluru airport at 5:50pm on October 8, returned to Bengaluru around 7:45pm.
"The flight was diverted to Bengaluru airport due to bad weather in Goa. It made an emergency landing at KIA due to low fuel at around 7:45pm on October 8," a source said.

The flight was scheduled to land at Dabolim airport in Goa at around 6:45pm. However, it finally landed around 11pm, causing severe inconveniences for passengers
An IndiGo spokesperson in a statement said: "Flight 6E 6168 operating from Bengaluru to Goa on October 8 was diverted back to Bengaluru due to adverse weather conditions in Goa"
"Captain followed all laid down procedures in coordination with ATC to ensure a safe landing in Bengaluru. At no point safety was compromised", it said.
"The safety of our customers and crew remains our top priority. Customers were kept informed, and refreshments were served to ease the wait time. We regret any disruption caused to our customers' travel plans due to circumstances beyond our control", it adds.
The aircraft (Airbus A321) can accommodate 222 passengers.

A senior official at Goa International Airport said heavy rains, thunderstorms, and lightning had led to the diversion of five commercial flights on October 8. Adverse weather conditions forced airport authorities to redirect flights to Hyderabad and Bengaluru. “While two flights were diverted to Hyderabad, three were rerouted to Bengaluru,” the official said. Weather conditions improved by 12:10am on Wednesday, and normal flight operations later resumed.
