Tamil Nadu and parts of Karnataka remain on heightened alert as Cyclone Ditwah continues its movement toward the north Tamil Nadu coast after forming over the Bay of Bengal on Thursday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has upgraded its warnings from orange to red for several delta and north coastal districts on November 28–29, signalling the likelihood of extremely heavy rain of more than 20 cm in 24 hours.

The Delhi Metro rolled out special early-morning services today to support the smooth movement of polling personnel ahead of Sunday’s MCD bye-elections across 12 wards.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said trains began operating at 4 am today, starting services earlier than usual to facilitate staff deployment. Services will again start at 4 am on polling day, November 30, with trains running every 30 minutes until 6 am before switching to the normal Sunday timetable. The last train will depart at 11:30 pm, extending operations by 30 minutes.

DMRC will follow a similar schedule on December 3, the counting day, when trains will also begin at 4 am with half-hourly frequency till 6 am, after which the regular weekday timetable will apply.

A woman was shot dead by her boyfriend following a heated argument in a village near Noida on Friday night, police said.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone II) Shakti Mohan Awasthi, the victim, identified as 25-year-old Sonu from Yakubpur village, was in a relationship with a man named Krishna. The two reportedly got into a dispute, during which Krishna allegedly opened fire, killing her on the spot.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, and Krishna is currently on the run. Police have formed four teams to trace and arrest him.
