'Saddened and shocked beyond words': Leaders condole loss of lives in Delhi blast
Political leaders across the country have expressed shock and sadness over the high-intensity blast near Delhi's historic Red Fort that took place on Monday evening, leaving at least eight people dead and many others injured.
"The news of several lives lost in the car blast near Delhi's Red Fort has caused pain and shock. I pray that the departed souls attain eternal peace and that the injured recover swiftly," Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said in a post on X.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said he was deeply saddened and shocked beyond words by the blast in the national capital.
"My thoughts and prayers for the bereaved families grieving for their beloved ones lost in this inhuman act. I pray for the recovery of all those injured," he said in a post on X.
Union Minister HD Kumara Swamy said in a post on X, "Deeply saddened by the blast in Delhi this evening that has resulted in the loss of precious lives and left people injured. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, and prayers for the swift recovery of those who are injured."

Delhi Police have registered a case in connection with the blast near the historic Red Fort in the city under various Sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Explosives Act, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
"A case has been registered under sections 16, 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and various sections of the Explosives Act and the BNS at the Kotwali Police Station," Delhi Police said.

On its official website, the US Embassy said, "On November 10, 2025, a car exploded near the Lal Quila (Red Fort) metro station in central Delhi, India, with local media reporting multiple casualties. While the cause of the explosion is unknown at this time, the Government of India has placed several Indian states on high alert."

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday condoled the loss of lives in the blast near the Red Fort on Monday that killed at least eight people and injured many others, and appealed to people to maintain calm and avoid rumours.
Calling the incident ”extremely distressing and alarming”, Gupta expressed her deepest sympathies to those who lost their loved ones. "I pray to God that the injured recover swiftly,” she said. All possible help is being ensured for the affected people, and teams of Delhi Police, NSG, NIA, and FSL are working together to conduct a thorough probe into the entire matter, she said in a post on X.
"I appeal to all Delhi residents to avoid rumours and maintain calm. Please rely only on official information issued by police and the administration,” the chief minister said.
