Union Minister Nitin Gadkari at Rising Bharat Summit

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday said that there is no room for politics in developmental works, noting that he works in coordination with everyone for the sake of nation's development.

Speaking at the News18 Rising Bharat Summit, Gadkari, while responding to a query on whether he faces roadblocks when dealing with non-BJP CMs for infrastructural works, Gadkari said, "Never! I straightaway dial them and speak to them when there is any problem, whether Mamata Ji (Banerjee) or (MK) Stalin... I sometimes get angry on Karnataka CM too, saying these many projects are stalled. This time when he came, he cleared 26 out of 38 proposals. So, there is no scope of politics here..."

During the conversation, Gadkari said he had given two suggestions to Siddaramaiah - one to build tunnels in Bengaluru to deal with the traffic issue and the second was to built three-layered flyovers, instead of single-layered.

He also said that the department had undertaken developmental works to the tune of Rs 1 lakh crore in Delhi, aimed at dealing with the issues of traffic congestion and air pollution.
