Days after the tragic stampede in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras, the self-styled godman Narayan Sakar Hari aka Bhole Baba broke his silence on the devastating incident. In a video statement, he said he has complete faith that the one who created chaos in Hathras would not be spared.

The deadly incident took place after the 'satsang' of the self-styled godman where several devotees had gathered. A total of 121 people, mostly women, were killed in the stampede after the preacher's satsang in Fulrai village on July 2 in one of the worst tragedies in recent years.

"I am deeply saddened after the incident of July 2. May God give us the strength to bear this pain. Please keep faith in the government and the administration. I have faith that anyone who created the chaos would not be spared," 'Bhole Baba' said in conversation with news agency ANI.

"Through my lawyer AP Singh, I have requested the members of the committee to stand with the bereaved families and the injured and help them throughout their lives," he added.

Following the incident, Narayan Sakar Hari reportedly escaped from the site. He is now believed to be at his opulent ashram in Mainpuri along with several of his followers. A large number of police personnel has been deployed outside the ashram in order to monitor the area.
