Fadnavis reacts to YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia's remark: 'Everyone has freedom of speech but...'

Amid the row over YouTuber  Ranveer Allahbadia's remarks on a roast show, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that anyone who crosses the limits of decency will face action. However, the CM clarified that he had not yet watched the clip.

"I have come to know about it. I have not seen it yet. Things have been said and presented in a wrong way. Everyone has freedom of speech but our freedom ends when we encroach upon the freedom of others... In our society, we have made some rules, if someone violates them it is absolutely wrong and action should be taken against them," the CM told ANI.

On Samay Raina's show, 'India's Got Latent', Allahbadia posed an inappropriate question to a contestant, sparking controversy on social media.   The show also featured content creators like Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija, known as "The Rebel Kid".

Allahbadia asked a contestant whether they would rather watch their parents have sex for the rest of their life or join them once and put a stop to it. A video of the remark went viral, leading to backlash from viewers and public figures. Many criticised the content as insensitive and inappropriate.

According to NDTV, lawyers Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra have written to Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phalsankar and the state women's commission seeking an FIR against Allahbadia.
