Voters in Maharashtra are all set to elect their representatives for the Vidhan Sabha on 20 November after a dramatic last five years in which new coalitions were formed and also parties were split in the state. Dhule City which is located in the Dhule district of Maharastra is the constituency number 7 and the seat falls under unreserved category. Polling in Dhule City seat will take place on 20 November as polls in Maharashtra will take place in a single phase. The counting of votes for the Dhule City will take place on 23 November.

In 2019 assembly elections, the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) candidate Shah Faruk Anwar won the Dhule city seat with a margin of 3,307 votes. The constituency witnessed a low voter turnout of just 50.6% in the last assembly elections.
Demographic profile of Dhule district according to 2011 Census
The total population of the Dhule district as per the 2011 census is 20.50 lakh. The population of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe is 1.27 lakh and 6.47 lakh respectively which constituted 6.22% and 31.56% of the total population of the district.
The male population is 10.54 lakh while female population is 9.96 lakh. The rural population is 14.79 lakh which constitute 72.16% of the total population of the district while as urban population is 5.71 lakh which constitutes 27.84%. Population density of the Dhule district is 285 per sq. km., which is much lower than Maharashtra state’s population density of 365 per sq. km.
As per 2011 census, the literacy rate of Dhule district is 72.80 % as against Maharashtra State literacy rate of 82.34 %. The literacy rate of rural area is 67.1% and urban area is 84.5%.
The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with counting for all 288 constituencies set for November 23. In the 2019 assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, the Shiv Sena 56, and the Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP secured 122 seats, the Shiv Sena 63, and the Congress 42.
