It said Rehman gave provocative speeches at various places and appealed to the Muslim minority community gathering to block roads and other other public places during the visit of Donald Trump, USA President, on February 24-25 so that propaganda may be flashed at the international platform that the Muslim minority community in India are being tortured.

Rehman was booked for alleged involvement in the riots and was subsequently arrested by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police on April 26.
The police produced him before Special Judge Sanjeev Kumar Jain and sought his custodial interrogation for 12 days.
