A ruckus took place at Patna airport in Bihar after Congress leaders accompanying state party chief Rajesh Ram and state party CLP leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan were allegedly confronted and manhandled by party workers over the distribution of tickets.
The leaders arrived in Patna after attending the party's CEC meeting in Delhi on Tuesday evening.
Disgruntled workers accused the leadership of corruption in distribution of election tickets. "Tickets have been sold. Rajesh Ram has sold tickets," alleged one protester, ANI reported.
Another worker, Shravan, voiced frustration for senior party member Dr Ashok Gagan, who has served Congress for 35 years. "He is not being given a ticket, we are opposing this," he said.
Congress party is yet to release its candidate list for the Bihar elections.
The Bihar assembly elections will be conducted in two phases. The first phase of voting will take place on November 6 while the second phase of voting will be conducted on November 11. The counting of votes will take place on November 14.
