The Women's Reservation Bill, a subject of extensive debate, reportedly received approval during a Union Cabinet meeting presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 18. The Bill seeks to allocate 33 percent or one-third of all seats in Lok Sabha and state assemblies to women.
