Bharatiya Janata Party's I-T cell head Amit Malviya on Tuesday claimed that two Members of Parliament of the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal got embroiled in an altercation at the office of the Election Commission of India in Delhi last week which spilled on to the party's WhatsApp group.

Sharing screenshots of the purported chat on the 'AITC MP 2024' group, Malviya claimed that "warring camps" within the party "took sides and traded barbs".

He also highlighted the reference to a "versatile international lady" and said it was a mystery for the world to unravel.

According to Malviya's post, it all began on April 4, 2025, when two TMC MPs visited the headquarters of the ECI to submit a representation. Malviya said that the party may have instructed its MPs to gather at the Parliament office to sign the memorandum before proceeding to the EC. However, the MP carrying the memorandum skipped the Parliament meeting and went directly to the EC, angering another MP, who confronted him when they came face to face at the Commission.

"A heated exchange followed, with the two shouting at each other — so much so that one of them asked the police personnel present to intervene. The matter escalated quickly and reached Mamata Banerjee, who reportedly asked both MPs to stand down," Malviya claimed in his post.
