Assam Police can't go to Singapore to probe Zubeen's death: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Sarma added that Assam's people must put pressure on parents of those Assamese of Singapore served notice to send their wards for questioning.

"When I address the press, selected portions are often cut and taken. It may create unnecessary tension among the public," said Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the state Police cannot go to Singapore to probe singer Zubeen Garg's death. He said the government cannot join dots unless those concerned come forward.

Sarma added that Assam's people must put pressure on parents of those Assamese of Singapore served notice to send their wards for questioning.

Earlier on Saturday Sarma said he will make all announcements related to death of singer Zubeen Garg and ongoing probe only through Facebook Live in order to avoid miscommunication.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an official function in Biswanath Chariali, Sarma claimed that different media shows selective portions of any presser as per their target audience and it leads to confusion among the public.
