The upcoming 78th Independence Day celebrations at the historic Red Fort on August 15 are set to be a grand affair, with a diverse group of 6,000 special guests invited to witness the occasion. These invitees, who represent various segments of Indian society, include participants in the Paris Olympics, students benefiting from the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), workers from the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), and sarpanches from gram panchayats across the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the nation in the celebrations, which will begin with the unfurling of the national flag, followed by his address from the ramparts of the Red Fort. This year’s Independence Day theme is 'Viksit Bharat @ 2047', reflecting the government’s vision to transform India into a developed nation by 2047.
