Welspun World appoints G R Arun Kumar as Group CFO

Global conglomerate Welspun World has announced the appointment of G R Arun Kumar as Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective from May 20, 2024. The Group Finance & Strategy, Group Investor Relations, Group Mergers & Acquisitions, and Growth Strategy teams will directly report to Kumar.

Based in Mumbai, Kumar will be instrumental in partnering with the board and businesses in Welspun World on its three-year and five-year plans, driving group-level financial strategic planning, overseeing M&A and inorganic growth, managing fund raising, treasury, investor relations, and external stakeholder management, Welspun World said in a statement.

Kumar brings nearly three decades of experience from global and Indian multinationals such as Ola, Vedanta, General Electric (GE), and Hindustan Unilever.

Prior to joining Welspun World, Kumar served as Group President & Chief Financial Officer at Ola, Bangalore, where he played a role in establishing Ola Electric as one of the leading electric vehicle (EV) companies. Prior to that he served at Vedanta as Group CFO managing the balance sheet and the finance function through commodity cycles.
