Gokaldas Exports has seen a change at the helm as Sivaramkrishnan Ganapathi took over as Managing Director last week. He was COO at Idea Cellular and had been with the Aditya Birla Group for 21 years.
Talking to CNBC-TV18 in a first interview to media after taking over the new position he said the company has lot of intrinsic capabilities which can be leveraged to turnaround the business. He said, all the projects which can help us get into profitability have been initiated.
He is confident that these projects would help them reduce their cost of operations, yield better pricing and improve margins.
The company saw a steep fall in revenues last year to more than 20 percent on back of global tailwinds. However, Ganapathi said the global tailwinds are now favourable and the revenue fall era is behind them now.
However, with regards to GST the recent notification is beneficial for exporter interest. Therefore, one is looking at improved revenues for Q3 and Q4 and is confident of prospects for remainder of FY18 and FY19.
The company will focus on value businesses, marquee clients, said Ganapathi.
