Sunny Leone's cosmetics brand Starstruck has achieved an annual revenue exceeding Rs 10 crore, the actor and model has stated.
Karenjit Kaur Vohra, also known as Sunny Leone, originally from Canada, launched her cosmetics brand Starstruck in 2018 with an initial investment of Rs 10 lakh. In 2019, she expanded her business into innerwear in collaboration with her husband, Daniel Webber, under the brand 'Infamous by Starstruck'.
"I wanted to be a part of a company as a brand face, but I was considered too much of a risk for many companies despite my reach, following, and brand analytics being greater than most. So, I started it on my own! DONE!", Leone has noted in an email interview with CNBC-TV18.
Presently, Starstruck offers a range of over 260 distinct products, known as stock keeping units (SKUs) in retail, all of which the company claims to be 'cruelty-free', said the model.
Describing her journey as slow and steady, with numerous ups and downs and a wealth of learning experiences, the 42-year-old Leone emphasises that owning and operating her own company is far from easy, with no shortcuts available.
Throughout the years, she has diversified her investments across several successful ventures. Leone claims that her net worth today exceeds Rs 100 crore.
Her perfume line, Affetto Fragrances, is available in more than 500 outlets throughout India. "Simple, I love colour cosmetics, and the category is huge," she remarked.
In 2021, Leone invested in the PETA-approved athleisure brand, I Am Animal. She also put her money into a wellness brand named Rize Bars, and earlier this year in February, she initiated a restaurant called Chica Loca in Noida.
In January 2024, the model made history by becoming the first Indian actress to introduce her artificial intelligence (AI) avatar.
