Sumitomo Mitsui to acquire Temasek India NBFC arm Fullerton India Credit Company

The deal is subject to regulatory approvals and according to sources has been struck for around $2 billion.

Japan's Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG) and Fullerton Financial Holdings (FFH) July 6 reached an agreement for the former to acquire the latter's 74.9% stake in its diversified NBFC arm Fullerton India Credit Company.

The deal is subject to regulatory approvals and according to sources has been struck for around $2 billion.

SMFG will eventually acquire 100% of Fullerton India Credit Company (FICC).

FFH is a wholly-owned independent portfolio company of Singapore-headquartered investment company, Temasek.
