Shahina Mukadam of Independent Market Expert told CNBC-TV18, "I am not too positive on the long-term prospects of Vedanta given the fact that it has already moved up a lot. It more or less factors in all the upsides in terms of commodity price increases. At the same time I am giving a hold as of now, given the fact that there will be voting on the merger between Vedanta and Cairn India and if the voting does go in favour of Vedanta, I am not still to certain whether it will happen or not, if it goes in favour of Vedanta then it is a positive."She further added, "We may still see a bit of up move because I think the huge debt of Vedanta will be sort of offset by the cash on the book of Cairns. So, to that extent it is a positive, I would suggest a hold, see the outcome of the voting and then decide."
