Shahina Mukadam, market expert told CNBC-TV18, "One can look for a near term target of about Rs 154 in NTPC or may be at Rs 163, at those levels one should book profits and move out. If you see the numbers for NTPC I believe the quarter numbers are likely to be pretty depressing on a flattish type of revenue growth. I do believe that profits are likely also to remain flat if not lower."
"The company is going under some problems because of the new tariffs norms which is likely to impact the company for a couple of quarters going forward. So while it is a strong PSU I do believe it will hit some sort of consolidation at the current level. So there is no point for the investors to continue holding," she said.
