Avoid real estate stocks: Dipan Mehta

Dipan Mehta, Member at BSE & NSE told CNBC-TV18, "We avoid all the real estate stocks at this point of time and no doubt they are cheap but there are a lot of issues and uncertainties right from corporate governance to regulatory issues and real estate industry. The market per se is not showing any signs of strength. So in such a scenario, it makes no sense to play contrarion in the real estate sector or DLF for that matter."

"We have the earnings season, investors should get focused on companies, which are able to deliver good set of numbers, doesn’t matter whether they are export oriented or domestic oriented or which sector they are from. End of the day, I think performance pays, growth pays and that is what investors need to focus on," he added.
