ICRA has come out with its report on weekly food inflation for October 22, 2011

The spike in prices of non vegetarian protein items, in week-on-week terms for the week ended October 22, 2011 may be partly attributed to seasonal variations in consumption demand. The easing in prices of cereals, pulses and vegetables in week-on-week terms for the week ended October 22, 2011 is an encouraging sign. Overall, prices of various food articles are expected to display an easing subsequent to the end of the festive season; accordingly, food inflation is likely to print in double digits for the last week of October 2011 as well.
