The indefinite strike by Zepto delivery workers in Hyderabad has entered its fifth consecutive day, with the Telangana Gig and Platform Workers’ Union (TGPWU) escalating its demands for government intervention.

The union has submitted a formal representation to Additional Labour Commissioner E Gangadhar on May 23, accusing the company of persistent violation of labour rights, and urging immediate corrective action.

The protests, which began last weekend, have gathered momentum with delivery partners staging demonstrations outside Zepto dark stores in key locations such as Ramanthapur, and Boduppal.

Workers say they have been pushed to the brink by what they describe as exploitative practices by the quick commerce unicorn - ranging from drastically slashed per-order payouts to unsafe delivery deadlines – as well as lack of basic workplace facilities.
