The shipment follows a deal secured during Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s visit to the United States last year. Tamil Nadu has been expanding its presence in the semiconductor sector with policy support and industry partnerships.

In the Tamil Nadu Budget 2025, the state announced a Rs. 500-crore Semiconductor Mission to support semiconductor manufacturing. Coimbatore is expected to play a key role in this initiative as Tamil Nadu strengthens its position in electronics and high-tech industries.
