Fashion is among top three categories for Amazon India

Amazon is also counting big on the jewellery segment, which was launched in 2014.

Fashion is one of the top three categories for Amazon in terms of number of customers as well as business done, a top executive said on April 30.

Overall fashion is one of the top three largest categories. It also contributes the largest in customers (acquisition),  Mayank Shivam, Director, category management, Amazon Fashion, told Moneycontrol in an interaction.

He declined to talk about market share captured by the fashion category at a time when Flipkart Group that constituents of three fashion brands -- Flipkart Fashion, Myntra and Jabong claims to be having 80 percent market share of the online fashion segment.

Declining to comment on the competitor's claims, the company said that it sticks to third party reports, adding that according to a IMRB study that used a sample size of 32000 people across 200 cities, Amazon Fashion had the highest order share as a single, standalone marketplace during the festive season in 2017.
