SpiceJet is set to introduce a wide-body Airbus A340 aircraft to its fleet by the end of this month, reinforcing the airline’s expansion strategy. The aircraft is expected to enter operations in the first week of October, boosting capacity to meet rising passenger demand.

The airline will initially operate the A340 on a wet lease model before transitioning to a damp lease arrangement, providing operational flexibility and cost efficiencies.

SpiceJet, subject to regulatory approvals, intends to retain the A340 as a long-term addition to its fleet.

Moreover, SpiceJet is also in advanced talks to lease a second A340, reinforcing its commitment to expanding both domestic and international connectivity. The announcement comes shortly after the airline finalized plans to induct 18 Boeing 737 aircraft, including four Boeing 737 MAX jets, starting in October 2025.
