Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has purchased two land parcels of around 5 acres in Mehrauli Tehsil in New Delhi for a total of Rs 79 crore. The two land parcels are purchased from different sets of owners for which Goyal has paid a stamp duty of Rs 5.24 crore, according to the property registration documents accessed by CRE Matrix.
In the first transaction of land that was registered on March 28, 2023, Goyal purchased 2.5 acres of land from Luxalon Building Pvt Ltd at Rs 29 crore and paid a stamp duty of Rs 1.74 crore.
In the second transaction that was registered on September 01, 2023, Goyal purchased 2.53 acres of land from one Ravi Kapur at Rs 50 crore and paid stamp duty of Rs 3.50 crore
According to the documents, the two plots are located in the village Dera Mandi of Chhatarpur area and the registration for both transactions took place at Hauz Khas.
A response is awaited on a email query sent to Zomato. Further, the two sellers could not be reached for a comment.
The Delhi-NCR real estate market was recently in the news for MakeMyTrip Group CEO, Rajesh Magow purchasing a 6,428 square feet apartment in DLF Magnolias in Gurugram for Rs 33 crore while in a separate deal, Genpact CHRO (Chief Human Resources Officer), Piyush Mehta bought a 6,462 sq ft flat in the same property for Rs 32.60 crore.
Both the sale deeds were executed in October 2023. Magow paid a stamp duty of Rs 1.98 crore while Mehta paid a stamp duty of Rs 1.95 crore.
In another deal, Countrywide Promoters, a subsidiary of developer BPTP Group, has bought a 5.24-acre plot in Gurugram near the Dwarka Expressway for Rs 87.27 crore.
The sale deed was executed on November 16, 2023, and the company paid a stamp duty of Rs 6.11 crore for the transaction.

Meanwhile, Zomato's Goyal recently revealed that on New Year's Eve, Indians tipped more than Rs 97 lakh to the delivery partners. The platform also witnessed a mega surge in orders -- almost equal to the combined orders placed in six years -- on December 31.
Goyal, who tweeted the statistics related to the orders throughout the day, had written, "Love you, India! You’ve tipped over Rs 97 lakh till now to the delivery partners serving you tonight." He added that Zomato and Blinkit had more than 3 lakh delivery partners at work on Sunday. "Thank you for helping the nation celebrate," the Zomato CEO wrote on X.
