Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 14 met Young Liu, the chairman of Taiwan-based Hon Hai Technology Group, also known as Foxconn and is the world's largest contract electronics maker.

"I highlighted the wonderful opportunities India offers in futuristic sectors. We also had excellent discussions on their investment plans in India in states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh," Modi said in a post on X.
Modi's meeting with the Foxconn chief comes at a time when the iPhone manufacturer and a contract manufacturing giant is looking to scale up its manufacturing capabilities in country, to capitalise on the rising demand for premium smartphones among consumers in the world's second-largest smartphone market.
