According to a report by News18, Paytm and Google Pay are rolling out a feature that allows users to personalise their UPI IDs, making them look as simple as an email address.

Until now, most UPI IDs were directly linked to a person’s mobile number, making it easier for fraudsters to misuse. By allowing users to set customised IDs with alphabets and numbers, apps like Paytm and Google Pay aim to protect personal data while keeping payments seamless, the report added.
