Q: The other question that comes to mind is how much money should I have in my purse which I want to invest or I want to plan with in order to go to a financial planner. Should I be earning at least Rs 20 lakhs a year or more to be planning my finances. How does it work for me?

A: Planning is needed for those people who do not have the money and who have to achieve some money, so people who are already wealthy do not necessarily need a lot of planning. Which means to say in my view financial planning clients would be people who are earning somewhere in the range of Rs 3 lakh per annum to about Rs 60-70 lakh per annum depending on needs and circumstances. That is the section that one is wanting to talk to. Therefore, it is not that HNIs need planning, everybody even middle class people they need more planning then HNIs do.
