DSP BlackRock Mutual Fund has increased its exposure to oil & gas, information technology and banking & financial services sectors. However, it slashed its exposure to engineering & capital goods, automotive and cement & construction space.
HDFC, Hindustan Construction and Suzlon Energy were the top buys by the fund while Idea Cellular, South Indian Bank and Hathway Cable were the top sell. The study of the scheme for the month of December 2010 shows that in the oil & gas space, it bought Reliance Industries, GAIL India and Cairn India. However, it sold ONGC, BPCL and Petronet LNG. The scheme has purchased Infosys Technologies, HCL Tech and Oracle Financial in the information technology sector. The fund introduced Tata Elxsi, Mphasis and Wipro in the space. However, it sold NIIT, Allied Digital Services and Hexaware Technologies in the same space. (View - All Bulk Deals by Mutual Funds) In the banking & financial services space, it bought HDFC, HDFC Bank and Karur Vysya Bank and also introduced IDBI Bank and Dena Bank. However, the fund sold SBI, ICICI Bank and OBC and exited from PNB and South Indian Bank in the space. The scheme sold L&T, BHEL and Cummins India in the engineering & capital Goods sector. It exited from McNally Bharat Engineering. However, the fund bought Areva T&D, ABB and Kennametal India and introduced Suzlon Energy and TRF. It sold Bajaj Auto and Steel Strips Wheels and exited from JK Tyre, Tata Motors and Escorts in the automotive space. However, it bought Tata Motors (DVR) and TVS Motor Company. In the cement & construction pack, it sold Ahluwalia Contracts, Consolidated Construction Consortium and Mahindra Lifespace Developers and exited from OCL India, Heidelberg Cement India and Man Infraconstruction.
