Nippon MF’s Sundeep Sikka named AMFI Chairman, Bandhan AMC’s Vishal Kapoor appointed Vice Chairman

Sikka and Kapoor will takeover from current chairman Navneet Munot who is the MD and CEO of HDFC Asset Management Company, and Vice Chairman Anthony Heredia who is the MD & CEO of Mahindra Manulife Mutual Fund.

Sikka, according to the release, has been on the AMFI Board since 2009 and earlier served as Chairman between 2013 and 2015. Kapoor has also been on the AMFI Board since 2018 and has chaired the ARN Committee since 2020.

The Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), the apex industry body representing all SEBI-registered asset management companies, has announced new leadership following its 30th Annual General Meeting and subsequent board meeting. Nippon Life India Mutual Fund’s Executive Director  and CEO, Sundeep Sikka, will take over as Chairman of AMFI. Bandhan AMC’s CEO, Vishal Kapoor, will assume the role of Vice Chairman.

Sikka, according to the release, has been on the AMFI Board since 2009 and earlier served as Chairman between 2013 and 2015. Kapoor has also been on the AMFI Board since 2018 and has chaired the ARN Committee since 2020.

India’s mutual fund industry crossing Rs 75 lakh crore in assets under management (AUM) and serving more than 5.6 crore investors nationwide. The industry’s assets under management (AUM) have expanded from Rs 13.17 trillion as on July 31, 2015 to Rs 75.36 trillion as on July 31, 2025, a more than six-fold increase in just ten years.
