JSW Steel has announced the incorporation of a Joint Venture Company (JV), APJSW Private Limited, on August 25, 2025, in collaboration with Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation Limited (APMDC). This JV aims to establish the Konijedu Marlapadu Integrated Iron Ore Project in Andhra Pradesh.
The incorporation of APJSW Private Limited follows the Board's approval for a JV between JSW Steel and APMDC. JSW Steel holds 89% equity, while APMDC holds the remaining 11% as free ride equity.
APJSW Private Limited will focus on mining and beneficiating low-grade iron ore at the Konijedu Marlapadu Integrated Iron Ore Project. The project is expected to cost ₹1,075 crore and will have a production capacity of 1.3 million tons per annum of beneficiated iron ore concentrate.
The initial subscription by JSW Steel to the equity share capital of APJSW Private Limited is ₹89,000, which does not fall within the purview of Related Party Transaction for the Company.
The incorporation of APJSW Private Limited is expected to provide cost savings to JSW Steel by replacing imported iron ore usage with locally beneficiated iron ore.
