Rupee opens at 45.98 per dollar

The Indian rupee opened at 45.98 per dollar versus 45.75 Friday.

Subramaniam Sharma, Greenback Forex said that, "Rupee likely to be weak as the sentiment in domestic equity markets continues to remain sluggish. Global cues, some panic buying from importers coupled with exporters taking a wait and watch approach may take rupee towards 46/$ levels very soon. The range for the day is seen between 45.70-45.95/$."
