Here are experts equity calls for the day on how the markets are expected to trade:

Michael Hartnett, BofA ML: Sluggish global policy and the absence of a clear resolution to the European crisis have kept investors risk-averse in December. While, China remained the consensus Overweight, India is the most underweight amongst investors currently.  Investors are also overweight Brazil, Russia and Indonesia. Andrew Garthwaite, Credit Suisse: We think the critical drivers for equities in 2012 will be more Quantitative Easing by the Fed, ECB and BoJ by late Q1 and the tail risks associated with the Euro crisis, US fiscal policy and Chinese housing. We stick with 2012 year-end S&P 500 target of 1,340.
