Hiring outlook remains stable in India for Q2: ManpowerGroup report

India tops the list of countries across the globe with a Net Employment Outlook of 36 percent despite organisations struggling to activate their hiring plans with talent shortages at 80 percent.

Overall, the strongest hiring intentions are among organizations in the North of India (40 percent) followed by the West (35 percent), South (33 percent) and East (30 percent) reporting the least optimistic outlooks.

Employers in India continue to demonstrate optimism for the second quarter in a row, according to the latest ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey of nearly 3,150 employers.

India tops the list of countries across the globe with a Net Employment Outlook of 36 percent despite organisations struggling to activate their hiring plans with talent shortages at 80 percent. When compared to last year, the trend is moving upwards by 6 percent and has a marginal dip of 1 percent compared to the previous quarter.

The Net Employment Outlook is derived by taking the percentage of employers anticipating an increase in hiring activity and subtracting from this the percentage of employers expecting a decrease in hiring activity.

Overall, the strongest hiring intentions are among organisations in the North of India (40 percent) followed by the West (35 percent), South (33 percent) and East (30 percent) reporting the least optimistic outlooks. All sectors have shown a positive growth trajectory when compared to the same period last year.
