Steel prices remain quiet in thin trade

Traders said absence of worthwhile activity from construction units due to adverse weather conditions mainly kept prices steady.

Quiet conditions persisted at the wholesale steel market in the national capital on Saturday as prices continued to trade in a tight range on lack of worthwhile activity, settled around previous levels. Traders said absence of worthwhile activity from construction units due to adverse weather conditions mainly kept prices steady. Following are on Saturday's quotations (in Rs per tonne): Saria Kamdhenu: 8-mm Rs 44,100, 10-mm Rs 43,600, 12-mm Rs 41,200, 16-25 mm Rs 42,000.

Amba Shakti (TMT): 8-mm Rs 45,200, 10-mm Rs 42,900, 12-mm, Rs 41,900, 16-25 mm Rs 42,000. MS Angle: (50x5) (50x6) Rs 42,000, (40x5) (40x6) Rs 42,800. Angle Capital (ISI) (40X5) (40x6) Rs 44,100, (35X5)(65X6) Rs 44,600, Girder (125X65) Rs 41,000.
