Rs 200 cr likely to be spent on Indore Smart City plan in FY17

The Commissioner informed that the local body has so far received an assistance of total Rs 248 crore from the Centre and the state. Besides, the IMC has made a provision of Rs 200 crore this fiscal from its budget.

Authorities have started working on the Rs 5,108 crore-worth Indore Smart City project and nearly Rs 200 crore are expected to be spent on it this financial year.

"Our estimate is that in the current financial year, Rs 200 crore is expected to be spent on roads, water supply, sewerage and water recycling schemes under the Smart City project," Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) Commissioner, Manish Singh told PTI.

Under the project, construction of roads has already begun. Besides, detailed project report (DPR) for water supply, water recycling and sewerage is being prepared. If everything goes as per the plan, then tenders will be floated in the next two months under the scheme, he said.
