Mumbai’s ambition of becoming the first city in the world to boost of two international airports might see the light soon. In a conversation with CNBC-TV18’s Nayantara Rai, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the government is planning to open financial bids for the airport and will ask companies to submit the request for proposal (RFP) in next two to three days. Fadnavis said that so far four companies have put in bids. These companies and consortia include GMR Delhi, GVK-led Mumbai International, Hiranandani Developers with Zurich Airport and Tata Realty with France’s MIA Infrastructure. Fadnavis also said that the government will be launching new housing policy in one month’s time.
