Fiscally prudent Budget 2017-18, says Dinanath Dubhashi

It’s a fiscally prudent Budget despite being "expansionary" in right directions.

"An increase in capital spending of the order of 25 percent will have a good multiplier effect on the economy. The Budget reflects improved quality of fiscal consolidation as it has placed thrust on capital spending rather than revenue spending. Budget's push to the agriculture & rural sector will go a long way in stabilising the turbulence created by demonetisation."
