Tourism will be the future of Arunachal Pradesh in the coming years as the state will overhaul the sector and market 'Brand Arunachal' to the world, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said.
The state government was committed to utilizing the tourism potential of the state to the optimum level in a professional way by marketing 'Brand Arunachal' to the world, Khandu told a delegation of Arunachal Pradesh Tour Operators Association here yesterday.
"We need to create a brand, which resonates with the youths of the country. A holistic tourism roadmap with focus on high end and adventure tourism will be drawn up and put in place soon," an official statement said today quoting Khandu.
Tourism is one sector, besides development of hydro resources, that can generate revenue for the state exchequer and create employment for the people, he said.
The Chief Minister said the government would take up with the Centre for utilization of the upgraded Advanced Landing Grounds (ALG) for civilian purposes, which would boost inflow of tourists as transportation is one of the major bottlenecks at the moment.
Many private airlines have approached the government to operate their fixed-wing aircrafts in the state, he said.
