Endosulfan ban in India has finally been achieved after much protest. Excel Crop Care is one company that has already made a provision of Rs 10 crore with respect to endosulfan. Ashwin Shroff, Chairman, joins CNBC-TV18 to talk about the quarterly results and the way ahead for the company.

With the assumption that perhaps this is banned, how much of a provision or hit can you all take? Will this Rs 10 crore be enough?A: That is the provision we have made based on the current situation. As you know, the Supreme Court order is an interim order and within two months or so, a report will come out. Then it will clarify the picture further. Q: So is this Rs 10 crore which is equivalent to two months worth?
A: No, it is not like that. It is reasonable estimate, a quantification of what the issue is. This is mainly for the inventories that we carry and some of the incoming material that is there.
