The 2G auction is a big hit. After 10 days and 68 rounds the auctions drew to a close today. The centre has exceeded its target from the sale of spectrum. Total bids have crossed Rs 61,000 crore. This will fetch the government over Rs 18,000 crore this fiscal alone. Remember, the centre's target was just Rs 11,300 crore.Vodafone has just issued a press release saying they have bagged 11 circles in 1800 megahertz band and 3 circles in the 900 megahertz band.Speaking after the auctions concluded a triumphant telecom minister said the sector is on the road to recovery.
