Samsung produces more India-assembled smartphones than Apple: Report

The Korean giant’s share of global final assembly volume of smartphones in India stood at 25 percent in FY24, while that of the iPhone maker was at 15 percent

Global electronics major Samsung assembles more smartphones in India in terms of its global volume than its rival Apple, a report by Business Standard said on June 12.

The Korean giant’s share of global final assembly volume of smartphones in India stood at 25 percent in FY24, compared to Cupertino-based tech major's 15 percent in the same period, BS said citing a S&P Global report.

Samsung fails to get the same attention as the iPhone maker due to the latter’s more ‘aggressive’ export strategy and higher value of assembled phones, BS said.

For Samsung, Vietnam is the biggest assembly destination with 55 percent of the global share, while Brazil takes the third spot with 12 percent of the pie, the report said.
