Virtual merger means sharing and trading of spectrum assets and Reliance Communications already shares and trades in these virtual assets with Reliance Jio, experts tell CNBC-TV18 after Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani said the company has achieved a "virtual merger" with Jio at the Group’s AGM today.

Currently, Reliance Communication has spectrum sharing with Jio in about 17 circles and trading in 10 circles.

Reliance Communications, Aircel and Jio have access to the same 800-850 MHz spectrum assets which is one of the most efficient spectrum assets in the industry, says Nitin Soni, Director, Asia-Pacific Corporate Ratings at Fitch Ratings.

Similarly, the companies will also be sharing infrastructure of fibre and tower assets, he adds.
