The employees of multinational companies in India are receiving flat or slightly lower hikes in their salaries for 2025 as global economic uncertainty takes a toll on these firms, The Economic Times reported on January 11, citing a Deloitte survey data.
The average hike rolled out are in the range of 8.8 percent across these firms as against 9 percent given in the previous year, ET said.
Global Capability Centres run by these firms are handing out the biggest increments, the report said. The newspaper further added that the hikes given by GCCs, at 9.1 percent, are still lower than last.
In further disappointment for employees, the salary projection is around a percent less for FY25 than last year for most of the 100 companies surveyed, the paper said.
Meanwhile, Moneycontrol exclusively reported on January 7 that IT major HCLTech rolled out partial wage hikes for junior employees for the October to December period with many getting increments between 1 and 2 percent.
Rival firm Infosys, whose founder Narayan Murthy has been in the news for work-life balance debate, has deferred its annual wage hikes to the fourth quarter, Moneycontrol had reported citing sources.
