Government has imposed anti-dumping duty on some Chinese chemical imports and among them is product called SNF - sulphonated naphthalene formaldehyde and this chemical brings Himadri Speciality Chemical in focus because this company is going to invest Rs 1000 crore in the carbon black business.
In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Anurag Choudhary, CEO of Himadri Speciality Chemical spoke about the latest happenings in the company and on anti-dumping duty on SNF.
Choudhary said that the SNF industry was going through tough phase in India because of large amount of dumping coming from China.
Talking about business, he said our market share of the company in SNF is 60 percent plus and capacity stands at 68,000 metric tonne.
He further said that imposing anti-dumping duty on SNF is very positive for us.
On carbon black business front, he said we have introduced 10 new grades of specialty carbon black in last one year.
