H-Energy gets nod to lay Maharashtra-Mangalore gas pipeline

The pipeline will run from Jaigarh in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra to Panjim in Goa and onwards to Karwar in Uttara Kannada district and Udupi in Karnataka before terminating at Mangalore.

H-Energy Pvt, a unit of real estate player Hiranandani Group, has been granted rights by the petroleum regulator to lay a 635 km gas pipeline connecting Jaigarh in Maharashtra to Mangalore.

The pipeline will run from Jaigarh in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra to Panjim in Goa and onwards to Karwar in Uttara Kannada district and Udupi in Karnataka before terminating at Mangalore.

"The entity is allowed a maximum period of 36 months for the date of issue of the authorisation letter for ommissioning of the natural gas pipeline project," Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB), said in the order.

The pipeline will have a capacity to carry 17 million standard cubic meters per day of natural gas and will offer 4.25 mmscmd of capacity to third parties for common carrier access.
